Performing Arts Dance Academy: Instructors

Miss Kiki is a 2002 graduate of the University at Buffalo, and is a former member of the university's Zodiaque Dance Company. She is the Artistic Director here at Performing Arts. Miss Kiki has been a ballet teacher at Performing Arts for 13 years, and has also taught Pointe, Jazz, and Hip Hop. She recently completed training in New York City in a dance therapy program that focused on working with patients with Parkinson's Disease.

Miss Kiki started a class called Dance For Life. The class combines all of the elements of an ordinary dance class with a unique focus on the needs of persons with PD. Class consists of stretching, strengthening, rhythm and balance exercises. In addition, dancers regularly learn short pieces of choreography and have even had the opportunity to perform at PAWNY social events.

Dance for Life is a free class offered every Thursday afternoon from 1:30pm-2:45pm. The class is open to persons with PD and their caregivers.
